Son of Jose & Herminia (Hernandez) Arredondo, both born in Mexico. In the 1930 US census the family is living in Barstow and Jose is a Section Foreman for the steam railroad. There are seven children, Ramon being the youngest.

Ramon Arredondo Sr., 74, a Barstow resident for 59 years, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000. Born on Aug. 5, 1926, in Los Angeles, Arredondo was a car salesman for Soutar's Ford. He attended Hinkley and Barstow schools, graduating from Barstow High School in 1947. While in school he participated in baseball, football, basketball, wrestling, boxing and track and field. He attended Chaffey and Orange Coast Junior Colleges, receiving an associate of arts degree from Orange Coast College in agriculture. He was one of the five founders of Barstow Youth Football, was a member of the Democratic Club, the VFW & the Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Esther Arredondo of Barstow, son Dr. Alex
Arredondo of Brea, son Oscar Arredondo of Brea, daughter Paula
Arredondo-Langford and her husband Ernie of Barstow, and son Ramon
Arredondo Jr. of Barstow; two grandsons, Brandon L. Langford and Ryan
S. Langford, both of Barstow; two sisters Rafaela Schultz of Chatsworth
and Annie Vallis of Concord; and a brother, Ruben Arredondo of Barstow.
