Michael Stocking, s. of Capt. Samuel Stocking and Susanna Morrison, bapt. June 8, 1800 in the Cromwell Cong. Church, then the church society of the "Upper Houses" section of Middletown, since 1851 the separate town of Cromwell, Conn. He d. Oct. 12, 1824 in Berlin, Conn. where he is interred.
On Nov. 4, 1822 at Middletown, Conn., Michael m. Sarah Pattison and had no known child. On Jan. 7, 1827 at Middletown the widow Sarah Stocking m. Rev. Theron Osborn of Amenia, NY. She had four children by Theron, each dying as infants and interred in the same Bridge Street cemetery in Berlin, Conn. as Michael Stocking. Sarah (Pattison) (Stocking) Osborn d. Apr. 1, 1835 and is buried with gravestone next to first husband Michael Stocking.
