Joyce Irene Paxton, a resident of Holiday Island, AR, was born April 23, 1932, in DeSoto, KS, a daughter of Charles and Viola (Sprouse) Cooper. She departed this life Thursday, March 4, 2010, in Eureka, AR, at the age of 77. Mrs. Paxton was a Bookkeeper. She was a member of the Sons & Daughters of the American Revolution. Joyce was of the Methodist Faith. She is survived by her loving companion, Ray Coleman of Holiday Island, AR; son, Eric Bowers of Olathe, KS; daughter, Lisa & Brad Roche of Roswell, GA; son, David Bowers of Independence, MO; daughter, Kathleen & Kevin Bolling of Lawson, MO; son, Kevin & Kelly Paxton of Olathe, KS; son, Philip Paxton of Olathe, KS; step-daughters, Debbie Coleman of Eureka Springs, AR, Denise (Nesi) Coleman of Eureka Springs, AR; sister, Marge Snodgrass of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Bud Cooper of Parsons, KS; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Charles (Chuck) Bowers, one brother, Harold Cooper, two sisters, Bess Brewster & Mildred Wilson, one grandchild, Duane Bolling. Graveside Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the Eureka Springs Cemetery in Eureka Springs, AR with Rev. Stan Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Eureka Springs Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc. Memorial Donations may be sent to the Charity of your choice.
