Ricky Lee Newman, 45, a lifelong resident of Morgan County passed from this life on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at his residence.

Ricky was born in Martinsville on May 31, 1964 to Robert N. Newman and the late Marsha Jo (Mitchell) Newman.

He worked in construction for many years, most recently at Tuff Shed Construction Company, until his medical disability in May 2009.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1127 and the American Legion Post #230, both of Martinsville and the Waverly Baptist Church.

Ricky was an avid football fan, especially the Indianapolis Colts. He also enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, the outdoors, country music and his dogs.

He leaves behind a host of loving family members and friends including his father, Robert N. Newman of Martinsville; one son, Tyler Newman of Shelbyville, IN; two brothers, Rusty and Robert Newman both of Martinsville and three sisters, Rhonda Thomas of South Carolina, Penny White of Quincy and Deanna Taylor of Greenwood.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister, Debbie Woodard.

Family and friends are encouraged to visit on Saturday, March 6th from 1-3:00 PM at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville. Following visitation there will be a graveside service celebrating Ricky's life at 3:30 PM in New South Park Cemetery.
