According to the 1884 History of Tuscarawas County, page 683, Aaron Patterson is said to have been the first settler in Tuscarawas County, Ohio.
There are various versions about his birth. Some family members believe he was born in Ireland, while others believe he was born in Cumberland County, New Jersey. No documentation has ever been presented for either case. He did appear to migrate from New Jersey to Pennsylvania, and from there to Tuscarawas County, Ohio by about 1808.
In c1787 Aaron married Mary (Boone?), although he was rumored to have wed 5 wives during his life.
Aaron Patterson died 19 Dec 1842 and was buried in the Dundee Cemetery, Tuscarawas Co., OH.

4. Obadiah Patterson 1793-1850 m Eve Kint and lived in Miami County,Indiana.

6. Uriah Patterson 1799-1880 m Catharine; lived in PA.
