She is believed to be the infant daughter of Samuel Leland Blake and Roxanna H. "Roxie" Goodwin who are buried in Paducah, Cottle Co., Texas (in West Texas).

Samuel's obituary in 1933 in the Paducah newspaper states his oldest child, a daughter, had died in infancy. Based on his marriage date of Dec. 23, 1879 and the birth of his second child Sept. 15, 1883, this infant daughter would likely have been born between 1880 and 1882. Mackey Vada Blake was born in 1881.

There are no other Blakes documented in Findagrave or txfannin.org as being buried in this cemetery that are old enough to be Mackey Vada's parents, suggesting the possibility that her parents had left the area.

Samuel Blake moved to Fannin Co. in 1871 and married Roxie Goodwin there in 1879. They were still living in Fannin Co. on the 1880 census, one year before Mackey Vada Blake was born. By 1883, the family had left Fannin Co., as evidenced by the birth of their other children.

Their next three children were all born in Montague Co., Texas (Congress E. Blake 1883, Zora A. Blake 1885, and Elfie Elva Blake 1888). Their last child was born in Wilbarger Co., Texas (Katherine R. Blake 1890). By the 1900 census, Samuel, Roxie and their four surviving children were living in Estelline, Hall Co., Texas. The family moved to Paducah in 1903.

There are no Blakes of the right time frame documented in Findagrave as being buried in Montague Co.

This information suggests that Mackey Vada Blake, buried at New Hope Cemetery in Fannin Co., Texas, is the infant daughter of Samuel and Roxie Blake.
