John was a son of Johan Heinrich & Catherine (Wolf) Beck. On 5 Jan 1806 he married Elizabeth (Snyder) Beck. She was the daughter of John and Anna Margaret (Lowald) Snyder. Shortly after their marriage in Northampton County, John and Elizabeth moved to Centre County PA.
