Evelyn M. Brown, 87, South Daytona, passed away peacefully February 27, 2010 in Tennessee after an extended illness. Friends wishing to call and pay their respects may do so Friday, March 5, 2010 from 1:00 to 2:00p.m. at the Dale Woodward Funeral Chapel, 167 Ridgewood Avenue, in Holly Hill. Funeral services will begin at 2:00p.m. with the Reverends John Cooper and Robert Ahrens officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Rest Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born in Centerville, Michigan and moved to this area in 1932. She retired from Montgomery Ward's after 30 years of service. Her hobbies included painting and restoring old homes with her husband.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, John; four daughters, Shirley King, Maryville, Tennessee, Mary (George) Dixon, South Daytona, Kay (Robert) Ahrens, Pratt, Kansas, and Nancy Brouillette (Shane) Rolland, Port Orange; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Wood-brair Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
