Mr. Summersett was born July 15, 1915 in Awendaw, a son of Walter Cokely Summersett and Emma Bradwell Summersett. He was a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife, Grace Benton Summersett; three sons, Walter C. Summersett of New Jersey, and William Summersett and Robert L. Summersett, both of Mount Pleasant; two stepsons, Mitchell Branton and Jimmie Branton, both of Charleston; a stepdaughter, Carolyn B. Hethington of Charleston; two brothers, Douglas W. Murrell of Myrtle Beach and Cecil C. Summersett of Awendaw; three sisters, Sadie S. Jackson of Awendaw, Dorothy S. Jackson of Mount Pleasant and Hazel S. Jackson of North Charleston; and seven grandchildren.
