Obituary (edited)
Death of Mrs. Watson:

Prominent Society Woman Did Not Rally From Her Recent Illness.

Mrs. Annie Potter Sprague Watson, wife of Col. Arthur H. Watson, died at her home this morning, after an illness lasting a little less than a week.
Mrs. Watson was born in Providence about 52 years ago, and has always occupied a prominent position in society. She was the eldest of the four children of Col. Byron Sprague and Harriet Comstock, and was a granddaughter of Gov. William Sprague.
Mrs. Watson, in her youth attended Miss Shaw's private school, where she was very popular with all of her schoolfriends. On February 20, 1873 she was married to Arthur H. Watson. She was the mother of four children, Harriet Sprague (Watson)Lewis, Byron Sprague Watson, Mary Dockray Watson and Annie Hamilton Watson.
Mrs. Watson was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a director of the Colonial Dames and a member of Grace Church in Providence. She was very actively interested in the Colonial exhibition, which was held last month. She had a quiet and unobtrusive personality and was always very conciliatory in her disposition.
