"According to the Amador Dispatch newspaper, Mrs. Abbie Kent, wife of E.A. Kent, died at Aqueduct City on September 20, 1868. A native of Salem, Massachusetts, she was 43 years old at the time of her death. According to information filed by the LDS Church, E.A. Kent married A.F. Ward in San Francisco on February 20, 1854.
By 1883, E.A. Kent was residing in Jackson and was appointed to be the superintendent of the County Hospital."
