After residing in Garrison and vicinity gor 38 years Eli Grimm passed away. He had been ill of stomach trouble for the past two years. He was born in Pennsylvania June 26, 1840 and was 80 years old. He was married to Sarah H. Barner Aug. 24, 1862, at Monroe, Ill. Twelve children were born to them, 10 of whom survive. Mr. Grimm was a resident of Iowa for 58 years. Besides his widow and children he leaves two brothers and one sister, 54 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Six of his grandsons acted as pallbearers.
