As a young girl Luceil grew up and was educated in rural Nuckolls County, Nebraska. She graduated from Nelson High School in 1925. She then taught in two rural schools in Nuckolls County.
On June 24, 1926, Luceil married Charles Cleat Bagley at Hastings, Nebraska. This union was blessed with five children, two sons and three daughters. They moved to Superior in 1946 from the Abdal area.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church since age nine, past president and long-time member of Business and Professional Women, charter member of Parliamentary Club and a member of the Retired Teachers in Superior. Luceil had also been a Den Mother with the Superior Cub Scouts.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and one daughter, Barbara Lemon.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Bagley of Pasco, Washington, and Richard Bagley and his wife Janene of Superior, Nebraska; two daughters, Nettie Mae Karthals and her husband Albert of Victoria, Texas, and Betty Marcotte and her husband Albert of Santa Paula, California; son-in-law, Jimmy Lemons of Wichita, Kansas; 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 8, 2000, 10:30 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Superior, nebraska, with Pastor Mark Diehl officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, Nebraska. Williams Funeral Home of Superior was in charge of arrangements.
