Donald McLure and Mary McKenzie were married by the Rev. John Geddie at Lot 33, Brackley Point, PEI Canada on April 09, 1839.

Donald John and Mary immigrated with other families to the US from Canada about 1847 to Iowa County, Wisconsin. As a young man in PEI he worked on the ships. His family were farmers and shipbuilders/merchants.

The McClure family had many children, several of them sadly died before adulthood. The children born before 1850 were born in Prince Edward Island, Canada. The others were born in Wisconsin.
