Oscar Pinney enlisted on 9/4/1861, and was made Captain, of the (Wisconsin) Light Artillery, 5th Battery.

He was severely wounded at the battle of Stones River, Tn. (also known as the Second Battle of Murfreesboro), on 12/31/1862.

He died of his wounds, on 2/17/1863.
