In October 2006, he decided to enlist in the Army and was sent to Kuwait for a 15 month tour after finishing basic training. Ian was again sent overseas in September; this time to Afghanistan. Everyone remembers what a good guy he was – one who always had your back. Many considered Ian a good friend and just an all around great person to know. After his death, thousands of people lined the streets in Santa Clarita as his funeral procession passed. They wanted to show how much he was respected and loved.
