Only two children of the parents have recorded births at Dorchester - Mary in 1643 and daughter Hannah in 1663. Otherwise, the eight youngest children of Richard Baker and Faith Withington are evidenced only by individual baptism records at Dorchester. Despite these contradictions the writer has used the Mary born of record in 1643 as the basis of this memorial. She d. of record at Dorchester May 9, 1715.[*1]
On Nov. 19, 1664 of record at Dorchester, Mary Baker m. Samuel Robinson, s. of the Dorchester immigrants William Robinson and his 1st wife Margaret Beech, bapt. June 14, 1640 at Dorchester. He d. of record at Dorchester Sept. 16, 1718. They had three known children at Dorchester who are/will be summarized in their father's memorial.
[*1] In Frederick S. Withington's 1921 "Henry Withington of Dorchester, Mass. and Some of His Descendants" (NEHGR 75:142 et seq.), Withington claimed Mary d. Aug. 27, 1714. However, the author misappropriated the recorded date that Mary's dau-in-law Mary (Wiswall) Robinson died, latter the wife of Mary (Baker) Robinson's oldest son Samuel Robinson, Jr. [Dorch. VRs, p. 128; "Mary the wife of Samll Robinson Junr died 27th August 1714"].
