Mrs. Linda Faye (Gunter) Whittington, age 58, of Vancleave, departed this life on February 27, 2010 at Ocean Springs Hospital. She was born in Pascagoula on April 29, 1951.
Linda was a homemaker her entire life and loved taking care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Hattie Bell and Russ Gunter and Lucille and Herman Bryan, her father Edsel Coyt Gunter, her brother Kenneth E. Gunter, and father-in-law James O. Whittington.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years James A. Whittington, mother Lavada Gunter, daughters; Jamie (John) Farris, Tonya (Fred) Davis, Tammy Schneider, Sandra (Steve) Davidson, Nancy (Wayne) Fisher, and her son Jason R. Rau. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Ashley and Jalyn Farris, Conner Davis, Jeremy and Jack Schneider, Patricia Holt, Erica Whittington, and Dawn Atchison, and a great grandbaby Zoe. She had numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend Pat Waltman.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Odysey Hospice for the care given to her over the past few months.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Community of Christ Cemetery in Escatawpa, with Bro. Jamie Chapman officiating. Pallbearers will be Fred Davis, John Farris, Joe Cochran, Albert Cochran, Bill Gunter, and Jeremy Schneider.
