Marietta, OK — .Services for Ambert Lee Page, 103, of Marietta, Okla., will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel, Marietta, with Rev. John Sconce and Rev. Jason Williams officiating. Interment will be in McAlister Cemetery under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services.


Mr. Page was born April 3, 1906, at Marsden, Indian Territory, the son of Steven Lee and Petra Frances Smith Page. He passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta.


Mr. Page attended school at Marsden. He and Thelma Forbes were married on July 3, 1924, and the couple made their home in California for four years where he trained to be a barber. Mr. Page enjoyed cutting hair, but didn't like to shave anyone so they returned to Love County where he farmed and operated a grocery store in the Marsden community. He later moved to Duncan, Okla., to work for Halliburton. They kept their home at Marsden and returned on weekends to attend the Marsden Baptist Church.


After retiring from Halliburton, he moved back to Marsden. Mr. and Mrs. Page had two children, daughter, Erma Lee and son, Leo. Mrs. Page passed away in 1965.


Mr. Page later married Virginia Layton, and she preceded him in death in 1985. In 1988 he married Jewel Foster and she passed away in 2000.


Others preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Willie Page; sister, Laura Baker; daughter-in-law, Barbara Page; and son-in-law, Roy Murphy.


Mr. Page enjoyed playing dominoes, and when his children were in school he attended all of their basketball games at Meadowbrook. He was a member of the Shady Dale Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Erma Lee Murphy of Gainesville, Texas; son, Leo Page of Springfield, Colo.; two granddaughters, Sue Murphy of Lakewood, Colo., and Cindy Jacobs of Yukon, Okla.; three grandsons, Roy Lee Murphy and wife, Connie of Canyon, Texas, Gary Lee Page of Elkhart, Kan., and Tom Jacobs of Springfield, Colo.; two great-granddaughters, Whitney Jacobs and Ryley Jacobs of Springfield; stepson, Lewis Foster and wife, Jo of Shady Dale; stepdaughter, Peggy Sykora and husband, Butch, also of Shady Dale; seven stepgrandchildren; 17 stepgreat-grandchildren; one stepgreat-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be grandsons, Roy Lee Murphy, Gary Lee Page, Tom Jacobs, Brent Sykora, Bobby Foster and Scotty Foster. Honorary bearers are Gale Harris, Dale Harris, Lewis Foster, Butch Sykora, Charles Campbell, Kenneth Perry, Bill Landrum, Burl Bone, Dr. Tom O'Connor and all of Mr. Page's friends at the Southern Oklahoma Nutrition Center.


The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
