He resided in New York County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on July 2, 1942 at Fort Jay Governors Island, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a window dresser and also as Divorced, with dependents.

Rex died during the war, cause currently unknown.

He was originally interred in Italy and was later re-interred here on September 29, 1948.
