William Lawrence Allen, 73, died June 10, 2003, at an Oklahoma City hospital, Oklahoma City, OK, after an extended illness.

He was born April 23, 1930 in Downing, MO, to Oscar Milo and Mary Louise Harbert Allen.

He grew up in Lancaster, MO, was a graduate of Lancaster High School and attended San Jacinto Junior College. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, worked many years for Boeing and later retired from National Can Company. He was a member of the Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Jessie Neal and husband, Eric of Mustang, OK; one step-daughter, Wimberly Durham of North Carolina and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Luane, and one brother, Junior.

Graveside services were held June 14, 2003, at the Downing Cemetery in Downing, MO under the direction of Norman Funeral Home in Downing, MO. Oklahoma arrangements were under the direction of the McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, OK.
