Stella M. Barker, 81, of North Buffalo Township, died unexpectedly Thursday,
Nov. 19, 2009, at her home. She was born June 30, 1928, in North Buffalo
Township, a daughter of the late Palmer and Flora (Booher) McHaddon. She had
previously worked at Jamesway and the Mushroom Mines. She was a lifelong member
of the Center Hill Church of the Brethren and a member of the Women's Fellowship
at the church. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her houseplants. She is
survived by her husband of 55 years, Marlin H. Barker; daughter, Diane (Michael)
Reed, of Bolivar, Ohio; son, Larry Barker, of North Buffalo Township; and
sister, Martha Waltho, of West Kittanning. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her sister, Ruth L. Bowser; three brothers, Nason, Robert
and Junior P. McHaddon; and an infant sister, Wilda P. McHaddon. Friends will be
received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME,
200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday
at the Center Hill Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Dr. West Berkebile
