PHILPOTT: Elizabeth G. "Liz" Philpott, 70, entered eternal rest
Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, in Albuquerque. Visitation will begin at
6:30 p.m. today at Baca's Funeral Chapels, followed at 7:30 by
the prayer vigil and rosy y, recited by Deacon Bill Holguin. The
Mass of Resunection will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at
Santa Clara Catholic Church, with Father Paulus Kao officiat
ing. The rite of committal and burial will follow at Fort Bayard
National Cemetery. She was born March 9, 1939, in Central to
Jesus and Josephine (Allison) Garcia. She worked for many
years as a bartender and made many friends. Mrs. Philpott enjoyed
and longed to be constantly with her husband of 14 years,
Kenneth. She was frequently found playing bingo and the lottery,
and loved gambling and crocheting. She loved being around her
family, going out to eat and visiting with friends. Mrs. Philpott is
survived by her loving husband, Kenneth M. Philpott of Hurley; sons,
Edward Delgado and wife, Patsy, of Lordsburg, Johnny
Ray Delgado of Security, Colo., and Michael Scott Lucero of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters, Debbie Dominguez and husband, Raymond, of Mimbres, and Karen Allison and husband, Ray, of Bayard; brother, Charles Cordova, and wife, Dolores, of California;
and sisters, Esperanza Leyba and husband, Albert, Susie Sedillos and husband, Sam, of Carson City, Nev., and Sally Lucero and
husband, Richard, of Santa Clara. Also surviving her are 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and special friends, Sylvia
Tellez of Chamberino, NM., and Louise Abreu of Durham, S.C. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, a brother,
Jesus Cordova; and a great-granddaughter, Daniella Alvarez. Pallbearers are Ace Alvarez, Toby Allison, Jerome Dominguez,
Justin Dominguez, Gabriel Flores and Andrew Lam. Honorary pallbearers are her family, friends, grandchildren and great-grand
