Lucy E. "Ann" Schmit, 73 of Wetmore formerly of Holton died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
She was born June 17, 1936 in Council Grove, KS, the daughter of Iven Bruce and Mary Adda Pollock Crozier. She graduated from Denison High School. She had been attending Wetmore Bible Church. She was a truck driver with her partner Curtis Goodman.
Lucy married William Francis Schmit on June 23, 1958 in Ft. Smith, VA. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1985.
She is survived by her son, Terry Schmit; daughter, Cheryl Garber and her husband, Roger all of Topeka; grandchildren, Christina Anderson and Candace Schmit and 3 great-grandchildren; and her longtime partner, Curtis Goodman of Wetmore. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Lucy Schmit Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date c/o Mercer Funeral Home, PO Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
