Rosa Ann Henkle was married November 11,1879 at Philomath,Oregon to Andrew Charles Thompson. She was born January 17, 1887 in Illinois; died April 14, 1950 in Moro, Oregon. They had five children, four of whom survived. In descending order of age they were Jess, Claude, Edna and Dewey. Dewey had a twin sister, Rosa but she died before she was two months old. She is buried at the Rose Cemetery.

Andrew C.and Rosa Ann (Henkle) Thompson moved from Benton County to Monkland Sherman County, Oregon in 1883 and later to Moro in the same County. Mr. Thompson was a progressive wheat farmer and breeder of Percheron horses. He was one of the first farmers in Sherman County to handle wheat in bulk thus reducing the cost of labor and eliminating largely the cost of burlap bags.

Most people knew Rosa as Rosie. She was a petite, small framed woman who was always sweet and welcoming. She and Andrew lived in a house at 5th and Scott Street in Moro. She was always willing to supply the local children with after school snacks while Andrew would pay them to do odd jobs.
