Miss Hammond, 78, Is Called By Death
Miss Molly Hammond, 78 years of age, died several weeks ago at the home of a sister Mrs. J.W. Head.
Miss Hammond, born on Christmas day in 1861 had been in declining health for the past year but she suffered a broken hip in a fall, which hastened her death. Miss Hammond was born and reared in Spalding County, but had made her home in Zebulon with her sister in recent years. She was a member of the Zebulon Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted from the Zebulon Methodist Church, Rev. Wilson J. Culpepper officiating. Burial was in East View Cemetery, with Haisten Brothers, funeral directors, in charge.
Surviving Miss Hammond are three sisters, Mrs. Head and Mrs. C. E. Wright, of Zebulon and Mrs. W. H. Robertson of Clifton, Texas; a brother Dr. J. T. Hammond of Atlanta; several nieces and nephews.
