She was born March 2, 1928 in Grant County, the daughter of Merritt Gowin and Emily Irene (Zirkle) Gowin. Jean Ann graduated from Selma High School in 1946. She married Philip A. Boggs November 23, 1947.
Jean Ann was an accomplished seamstress and she worked in the Fabric Department at Britts Departments Store. She later worked at Ball Memorial Hospital. Jean Ann volunteered many hours at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was devoted to her family and she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Philip A. Boggs; her children: Catherine A. Boggs, Cincinnati, Ohio; Rebecca J. Mench, (husband-Thomas), Cincinnati, Ohio and Patrick Boggs, (wife-Joyce), Muncie; six grandchildren: Angela Hearld, Chicago, Illinois; Jason Hearld, (wife-Lisa), Appleton, Wisconsin; Adrian Joseph, (husband-Michael), Crown Point; Michael Mench, Cincinnati, Ohio; Michelle Boggs, Indianapolis and Andrea Mench, Cincinnati, Ohio and five great grandchildren: Fletcher Hearld; Campbell Hearld; Sawyer Hearld; Weston Hearld and Myka Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Joan Gowin and Patricia I. Thompson; one brother: James Gowin and her mother and father-in-law: Samuel Plummer and Hilda (Garringer) Boggs.
Services were Tuesday, February 16th, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 W. Isanogel Rd., with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating.
Burial: Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
