UETZ John - Peter Uetz of Jacksonville, passed away February 18, 2004. He was born March 2, 1916 in Elk Mound, WI. He served in the 820th Aviation Engineers from 1943 to 1946 and took part in the Normandy invasion on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1945. He retired to Jacksonville in 1975 after a long career in the electrical contracting business in Detroit, MI. He was a member of the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, the Southside Businessmen's Club and the St. Joseph's Men's Club. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Pat Uetz, Jacksonville; one daughter, Deborah Herbenar Turner and her husband, Tom, Jacksonville; one granddaughter, Ann Prince and her husband, Steve, Charlotte, NC; one grandson, Keith Herbenar, Jacksonville; one brother, William Uetz and his wife Norma, Elk Mound, WI; one sister, Marian Erickson and her husband Glenn, Oroville, CA; two sisterinlaws, Virginia Uetz, Clarksville, TN, and Claudine Uetz, Rockford, IL. He is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Ida Ue tz and two brothers, Francis and David Uetz. Visitation will be held at HARDAGEGIDDENS MANDARIN FUNERAL HOME, 11801 San Jose Blvd. on Friday, February 20, 2004 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, February 21st at St. Joseph's Historical Catholic Church, Loretto Rd., Jacksonville, with The Rev. Frederick Parke officiating. The Rev. Dan Cody will Co Officiate. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
