**Jehoiakim Jr was a brother of William Burget, Sr.
Almeron initially enlisted into Co. B, 29th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, on 19 Aug 1861. He was discharged on 14 Sep 1862, at Washington, D.C., on a Surgeon's Certificate of Disability. The 1890 census record shows that he had received a wound, "shot through the right leg."
Almeron re-enlisted on 27 July 1863, at the rank of Corporal, into Co. M, 2nd Ohio Heavy Artillery. His rank was reduced from corporal on 20 Jul 1864, and was mustered out with his company on 23 Aug 1865.
