"MRS. ISABELLA STEFFEN
Hortonville-- Mrs. Isabella Steffen, 81, who formerly lived in this village, died Saturday evening at the Wisconsin Veterans home at Waupaca.

Mrs. Steffen was a member of an old pioneer family. She was born in New Brunswick, Canada, and came to Hortonville with her parents when she was 3 years old. Her maiden name was Isabella McMurdo. She was married to Jacob Steffen who met death in the Civil war during Sherman's march to the sea. After the war she was married to her first husband's brother, Francis, who died about 45 years ago. Mrs. Steffen had been living at the veterans home for about five years.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Anna Steffen, of Hortonville, a son, Leonard Steffen, of Appleton, ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at [?] o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Baptist church in Hortonville."
