In 1883, Elizabeth married Peter Rafferty, born in Pennsylvania (1859-1920). They settled in Bellevue, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, where Peter was a railway conductor. The census reports they had a total of 7 children. Their four known children, all daughters: Anna M. Rafferty-Callander 1883-1953, Lila M. Rafferty-Penney 1885-1949, Gertrude M. Rafferty-Smith 1890-1978, and Helen Rafferty-Johnson 1894.
Elizabeth's husband Peter died in 1920, and Elizabeth followed in 1947. Both are buried in the North Side Catholic Cemetery (Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Cemetery).
