Helen was born March 28, 1928 in Macon County, the daughter of Albert and Elsie Fitzgerrel. She married Marvin E. Kenney on Thanksgiving Day of 1946 in Ottawa, IL.
Helen had lead a very energetic and vibrant life until having been confined to a nursing home the past four years with Alzheimer's. She was employed by the federal gov't as the Moultrie County draft board clerk in the courthouse for many years until the draft was eliminated. She then worked many years in the Kenney Insurance agency with her husband. Helen had many interests and hobbies. She loved the outdoors, camping and boating. Helen was a very active social person who had many friends and acquaintances down through the years. Helen loved Art and Music, was an active member of the Sullivan First Christian Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Sullivan American Legion Auxiliary.
Helen is survived by her husband of 64 yrs., Marvin (Toad) Kenney who was at her side caring for her every day during her four year nursing home stay. Helen leaves three sons, Rick and wife Kathy of Sullivan, Mike of Sullivan and Keith of Decatur, grandsons Shawn and Kevin and one great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Elsie Fitzgerrel of Ottawa, IL; brothers Harold Fitzgerrel and wife Lois of Emporia, KS, Ralph Fitzgerrelland wife Vivian of Minneapolis, MN and Frank Fitzgerrel of Bourbonnais, IL; and his daughter in law, Judy Kenney.
