Louise Margaret (Cash) Fitzgerald, 89, widow of Lester S. Fitzgerald died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 8, 1921, in Nelson County, a daughter of the late Richard Henley and Carrie Belle (Bartley) Cash.
Prior to retirement, Mrs. Fitzgerald was employed by Western State Hospital.
She was a member of Linden Heights Baptist Church
Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael R. and Gwendolyn Fitzgerald of Amherst; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Dickie Rexrode of Staunton; a brother, Elwood Cash of Churchville; two sisters, Hazel Tankesley and Frances Fitzgerald, both of Staunton; four grandchildren, Mandy Hemp and her husband, Andrew, Trevor Rexrode and CariJoy and Gabriel Fitzgerald; step-grandchildren, Jamie Rexrode and his wife, Jennifer, and Tammy Roberts; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Hemp, Alexis Hemp, Jamie Rexrode, Rhemi Rexrode and Carley and Chandler Roberts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, at Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. David Anderson and the Rev. Dr. Michael R. Fitzgerald. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be John Tankesley, Joe Tankesley, Randy Fitzgerald, Nick Dinkins, Tim Shull and Jim Cash.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Dorcas Sunday School Class of Linden Heights Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. today, Feb. 28, 2010, at Memorial Baptist Church and other times at her residence.
