MILROY, Ind. - Funeral services were held here at 2 p.m. Monday for Mrs. Celeste Biddie Hardesty, 92, a former resident of Orange Township, Rush County. She died at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Waldron Nursing Home.
The Rev. Lloyd Derby conducted the services, and burial followed in the Mildroy Cemetery.
Mrs. Hardesty lived for many years on an Orange Township farm, four miles southwest of Milroy, before entering the nursing home in 1951.
She was born in Rush County on Nov. 8, 1873, the daughter of Delaney and Cassandra Owen Mahan. On August 9, 1896, she was married to George W. Hardesty, who died aug. 12, 1951.
Only survivor is a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Dowden of Aurora. Four sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
