Gerald Edward Brunner
(December 3, 1925 - February 27, 2010)

Gerald E. Brunner, 84, Springfield, Mo., passed away February 27, 2010.

He was born December 3, 1925 in Springfield, Mo. Gerry graduated from Springfield Senior High School and attended Southwest Missouri State. He retired from 3M Company after 20 plus years. He married Georgia (Housel) Brunner on November 5, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a member of Dale Street Methodist Church, Fraternal Order of the Masons and volunteered for local and state golf tournaments. Gerald was an avid golfer, fisherman, hunter, motorcycle enthusiast and appreciated all automobiles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward M. and Grace E. Brunner.

He is survived by his wife Georgia; children, Michael E. Brunner and his wife Judy; Diane Brunner-Sublett and husband Jim of Columbia, Mo.; grandchildren, Michael E. Brunner II and Matthew T. Brunner, of Springfield, Andrew J. Sublett and Alex E. Sublett, Columbia, Mo.; and friends, Hal Funk, Ray Moore, Bill and Linda Powell, Paula Tindell, Bob and Sylvia Sneed, and his beloved Cocker Spaniel Mickey.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Maples for the care provided. Visitation will be held in Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 9 a.m.

Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with burial immediately after the service in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Greene County Humane Society.
