Mr. Bishop was born to Paul Douglas Bishop and Ebbie Lee DeLoach Bishop. Mr. Bishop was retired as a master sergeant with 20 years of service in the Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam war eras. He was a 1953 graduate of Cottageville High School in Cottageville, SC. He moved to Irwinville in 1973 and worked for Alcoa Aluminum in Tifton and for the Production Credit Association in Tifton, Ocilla and Fitzgerald. Mr. Bishop was a former owner/operator of Northside Superette in Tifton. He was a member of Irwinville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and sang in the choir. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and American Legion Post 99 and a former member of the Fitzgerald Lions Club. Survivors include: wife, Betty Jean Waller Bishop; sons, Steven, Phillip and Timothy; one daughter and brother, Carl Stuart Bishop and seven grandchildren.
