AUGUSTA, Ill. -- Joan Margaret Alexander, 74, of Augusta, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 23, 2010) in her home. She was born Aug. 9, 1935, in Quincy to Arnold and Margaret Ufkes Janssen. She married Lloyd Alexander on Nov. 14, 1954, in Golden. He survives. Joan was a homemaker. She was a 1953 graduate of Augusta High School and a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Augusta. She is survived by two sons, Randall Dean (Therese) Alexander of Jacksonville, Fla., and Donald Lloyd (Cindi) Alexander of Augusta; a daughter, Lisa JoAnn Learn of Lititz, Penn.; four grandchildren, Aaron, Lexie and Austin Alexander and Lauren Learn; a brother, Jerry (Bonnie) Janssen of Augusta; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. SERVICES: 2 p.m. Sunday in Faith Lutheran Church in Augusta with the Rev. Kurt Hoover conducting. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta. VISITATION: 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta. MEMORIALS: Faith Lutheran Church or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
