MANSFIELD Eston Sevier Jr., died at 3:15 a.m. Monday morning, November 10, 2008. His family was at his side at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara; three sons, Eston III, Lawson and David; and seven grand-children. His daughter, Terrell, preceded him in death in 2000.

Eston was born in 1927 in Atlanta, Ga., to Eston S. Sr. and Francis Langston Mansfield. He enlisted in the Navy at age 17, served on the USS Hornet and was stationed in the Philippines at the end of World War II. He attended Georgia Tech and Oglethorpe University, graduating from Emory University with a bachelor's degree in business and finance in 1952. He lettered in tennis and good times. Eston loved the sunshine and always owned a convertible. He lived life with the top down. Eston specialized in corporate credit management, proudly working for The Atlanta Milling Co., Westinghouse, General Cable Corporation, and Belcher Oil. His career took the family from Atlanta, Ga., to Tennessee, Charlotte, N.C., New Jersey, Connecticut and finally to Florida. Memorial services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, November 14, at the Carrollwood Chapel at the Blount and Curry Funeral Home, 3207 W. Bearss Ave., Tampa FL.
