He was married to the love of his life Jewell Peters for 58 years until her death in October 2006.
He was a quiet gentleman with a big heart and kind spirit. He loved God and family. He enjoyed an abundance of life, fellowship, and service to mankind. He lived by example "one day at a time" and never complained. He was a dedicated and life long member of Antioch Church of the Brethren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Howard Boitnott.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his daughter Anne McClelland and husband Bob, their children Alex and Hunter, his son John Boitnott, his daughter Gladys Hall and husband Michael, his son William Boitnott and wife Helen, their children Russell and Peter, his brother James Boitnott and family, his sister Nellie Ferguson and family, his sister in law Jacqueline Boitnott and family, his brother in law Richard Flora and family, his extended family of caregivers, Lisa Hancock, Evelyn Edwards, Debbie Furrow, Antionette Taylor, Vikki Patton, Katherine Thierry, Sue Joyce, Thelma Preston, Nancy Hale, his church congregation, relatives and friends.
A service celebrating his life will be held at Antioch Church of the Brethren 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2010 officiated by Pastor David Wolfe.
Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family invites your consideration of a gift to the Antioch Church of the Brethren or the Antioch Community Center.
The family expresses their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the many friends and neighbors who provided comfort, care and support during the past several years. The family will receive friends Sunday February 28, 2010, from 4 – 7 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount
