He was born April 20, 1920, in Bosworth to Arthur Keen Calvert and Anna Elizabeth Calvert. He married Georgia Elouise Finley of Hale on September 16, 1939 in Hale.
Mr. Calvert attended Bosworth Public Schools and retired after 30 years of service to Santa Fe Railroad.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda and husband John Peebles of Springfield; sister, Gladys Durnill of Kewana, Illinois; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Georgia Calvert, two sons, Thomas and Kenneth Calvert; brothers, Arthur and Jewell Calvert; and sister, Betty Jo Grossman.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 31, 2009 at Gibson Funeral Home in Bosworth. Burial was in Big Creek Cemetery in Bosworth.
