CAMBRIDGE - Edna Louise (Hague) Blaisdell, 95, passed away at her home in Cambridge on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010.

She was born in Lowell, Mass. on Dec. 27, 1914, daughter of the late Elmer and Ida (Burkett) Olson.

Edna had worked as a dental technician in her younger years. In her retirement years she had enjoyed working at Alden Bryant Art Gallery and the Varnum Memorial Library in Jeffersonville. She loved flowers, gardening, cooking tasty meals, making quilts, knitting and crocheting gifts for her family and friends. Edna will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her two sons, Kenneth Hague of Massachusetts; Robert Hague of New Hampshire; her daughter Sandra L. Manseau and husband Richard of East Fairfield; three step-sons and their wives, Kent Blaisdell and wife Martha, Brad Blaisdell and wife Joyce and Mark Blaisdell and wife Judy; two step-daughters, Beverly Learned and husband John, Sally Laura and husband Allen; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sixteen step grandchildren; thirty-five step great-grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by her first husband Gardner Hague in 1972, her second husband Closson Blaisdell in 2002; step-daughter Wilma Nye; two sisters: Thelma Rice; Arlene Tingley; and her step-granddaughter Stacy Nye.


A graveside service will be held in the family lot in Tewksbury Cemetery on East Street in Tewksbury, Mass. on Wednesday, March 3, at 11 a.m. An open house for family and friends will be held at Edna's home on Saturday, Feb. 27 from 3 to 6 p.m. to celebrate Edna's life.
