Harriett Elvira Wood was the daughter of William Wood and Asenith Hymer Wood of Yellow Creek District, Lumpkin County, GA. (By 1856, this area was changed to Dawson County, GA.)This is located in the area in Dawson County near the Yellow Creek Road and Hwy 369, up the road before you turn to go to Ball Ground.(The Yellow Creek Road eventually connects with Conn's Creek Road.)

Harriett's brothers were Luke Wood, of Chattanooga, TN, Warren Wood, of Cumming, GA and Napoleon Bonaparte "Boney" Wood of Ballground, GA.

Harriett married Alfred Kimsey Conn, March 25, 1867 in Dawson County, GA. They had six children and their names were Alice Lee "Alee", Lula V."Luler" or "Lunie", Ida Jane "Jennie", Samuel Hardy "Doc", Elizabeth Estelle "Lizzie" and William Lamar "Will" Conn. Alice married and moved to Florida. Doc married and moved to Texas. Will married and moved to Tennessee. The rest of the children stayed in Georgia.

According to family Bible records, Mrs. H.E. Conn died on Thursday, Sept. 14, 1911, at 9:10 PM. She died of cancer.
