Ruth M. Schofield, 96, of Blairsville, formerly of Ambridge, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana. She was born Nov. 8, 1913 in Ambridge, the daughter of the late John and Laura (Thomas) Rittelman.
Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Karen West and husband Dave, Marietta, Ga., and Janet Luke and husband Art, Winter Haven, Fla.; sister, Dorothy Gallagher, Leesburg, Fla.; four grandchildren, David West Jr., Marietta, Ga., Jennifer Braverman and husband Dave, Marietta, Ga., Kelly Garvin and husband Jim, Blairsville, and Art Luke III, Atlanta, Ga.; great- grandchildren, Luke and Kennedy Garvin; and several loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Schofield; a son, Sidney A.; brothers, George and Ed Rittelman; and sisters, Peg O'Connell, Grace Hopkins and Florence Nist.
Friends were received at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Blairsville, where a funeral service was held Monday.
Interment was in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
