He died at 8:50 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at his home of natural causes.
A native of Christian County, he was born Sept. 28, 1963, the son of Carol Knott McCaw, Hopkinsville, and the late Clarence Maxie Sr.
He was formerly employed by Flynn Enterprises and was a member of the First Street Baptist Church.
He was an Air Force veteran.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Tina Maxie; two sons, Carlton Maxie Jr., Paducah, Kentrell Maxie, Hopkinsville; a stepson, Stefan Schickel, Marianna, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Karinne Sims, Cocoa Beach, Fla.; three brothers, Jeffery William, Patrick Wayne and Clarence William Maxie Jr., all of Hopkinsville; two sisters, Kimberly Yvette Maxie and Eunice Renee Maxie, both of Hopkinsville, a grandchild and one stepgrandchild.
