Ava Buckner McHone, 93, of Chesnee, SC passed away on July 13, 2014 at White Oak Estates nursing home, Spartanburg, SC.
She was born December 4, 1920 in Buncombe County, daughter of the late Bill Buckner and Mary Frances Kuykendall Buckner.
Mrs. McHone attended Bible Belt Baptist Church in Mayo, S.C. and was a former member of Grassy Branch Baptist Church of Asheville, NC.
A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Mt. Sheba Baptist Church Cemetery, 870 New Stock Rd., Weaverville, NC, officiated by the Rev. Charles Hyatt.
Mrs. McHone is survived by: sons, R.D. McHone and wife Irene, , Noe McHone Jr. and wife Nancy; daughters, Joyce Harris and husband Franklin, Marie Reed, Mary Hunnicutt, Sandra Seals and husband Pete; daughter in-law, Donna McHone; a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband, Noe Ott McHone Sr.; daughter, Iris Sue McHone; son, Cager J. McHone; three brothers; three sisters.
