Edward William Waters married his ‘domestic servant ‘(housekeeper), Maud May Best. (born 1867 in Long Ditton, Surrey).
Edward died aged 66.
Three of their children became 'household names' viz. Jack Warner and Elsie and Doris Waters.

Jack Warner, born Horace John Waters in Bromley-by-Bow, lived in Rounton Road, Bromley-by-Bow, where father Edward ran a successful business producing the filling material for coffins and he employed a number of women as sewing machinists.
As children, Jack and his siblings would take the tube(subway) from Bromley to Bow Road especially to see the huge sign ‘EW Waters, Undertaker's Warehouseman' standing proudly at the back of the family home, and backing onto the tracks.
Jack served in the Royal Flying Corps in World War I, became an expert motor mechanic, raced cars at Brooklands, and became a motor car salesman

Young 'Horace' soon dumped his loathed first name, becoming John then Jack. And, when he took to the stage, he tweaked his surname too. Sisters Elsie and Doris Waters had already carved out a successful career in the music halls by the late twenties, and Jack didn't want to appear to be cashing in on their fame. He adopted the stage name Jack Warner … though stage success was longer in coming.

He was awarded the OBE in 1965.

Jack and one of his sisters (Doris) are said to be buried in East London Cemetery-though the cemetery have no records -it is possible therefore that they were cremated there.
