Peter Thomas Bolton, 84 years of age and for 74 years a resident of tipton county, died at the county infirmary Thursday morning, death being due to blood
poisoning, starting in his lower limbs about two weeks ago, following a fall at the infirmary.
The deceased had been in ill health for the past two years,
and very feeble in his lower limbs. In falling he bruised one of his limbs and in a short time gangrene started in the foot and despite all that medical science could do, it progressed and caused death, which occurred about 5:40 Thursday morning.
Peter T. Bolton was born in Franklin county, Feb. 26, 1850 but came to Tipton county with his parents, Thomas and Sarah (Evans) Bolton in 1860, locating on what is still known to older residents as the Bolton homestead, south of Tipton. At that time the place was only partially cleared and contained a log cabin.
Mr. Bolton was one of eight children, but only three sisters, Mrs. John Laudig of Tipton; Mrs. John Ludlow, north of Tipton, and Miss Mattie Bolton of College Corner, ohio are surviving. Peter was married April 21, 1881, to Miss Florence Graham, whose death occurred in 1922, and one daughter, Mrs. Otto Langolf, residing at Arcadia, survives. Three sons, William T., Albert T., Charles C., and two daughters, Myrtle and Jennie Dell are deceased.
Following the death of his wife, Mr. Bolton lived alone in Tipton having his own home on Ash street.
