Mrs. Myra Butler Evans, 78, a homemaker, 78, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, in Blountstown, Fla. The graveside funeral service will be at 4 p.m. EST today, March 5, at Evans Family Cemetery in Telogia, Florida. Peavy Funeral Home, Blountstown (850-674-2266) is handling arrangements. Myra was born in Sneads, Fla., on January 30, 1931, and had lived in Liberty County since 1960. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bristol, Fla. She was a member of the Jr. Woman's Club, a Jayceette and a member of Beta Sigma Pi Fraternity. Myra was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Pierce Evans. Survivors include one son, Clay Evans (and his wife Beth) of Bristol, Fla.; one daughter, Chaille Eikeland (and her husband John) of Bristol, Fla.; sister in law, Mildred Darden of Bristol; four grandchildren, Curry Eikeland (and his wife Amanda), Cayla Eikeland, Jessica Leanna Evans McClendon (and her husband James) and Jennifer Shiver; and six great-grandsons. In lieu of flowers the family wishes contributions be made to Covenant Hospice, 4440 Lafayette St., Marianna, FL 32446.
