She was born in Burlington, VT on January 23, 1919, a daughter of Onorindo and Teresa Braga Tomasini.
As a young girl, she moved to Florida, Massachusetts and later she attended the former Arms Academy in Charlemont, Massachusetts and also graduated from the LeBaron School of Hairdressing.
She worked for the Mayfair Beauty Salon as a hairdresser and later became the owner, retiring after forty-two years when she closed the business. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
She leaves her husband, Walter C. Christopher, whom she married in 1941 in North Adams; one son, Charles Christopher and his wife, Maureen, of Brockport, NY; one dauther, Carol Christopher, of Pittsfield; two grandchildren, Kevin Christopher of Tucson, AZ and Nicole Christopher of Rochester, NY; one great-granddaughter, Melina Christopher; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Charles, John, and Joseph Tomasini; and one sister, Mary Creek.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Catherine A. Christopher will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 191 Elm Street, Pittsfield, celebrated by the Rev. James K. Joyce, Pastor.
Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
