RENO - Elsie Louisa Rohrer Swartz, 87, of Reno died at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 29, 2000) at her home.
She was born March 15, 1913, in Harriettsville to Silas and Rena Springer Rohrer. She spent her early life in the Harriettsville community and had made her home in the Reno area since her marriage. She enjoyed her family, gardening, sewing, needlework, and her church. She was a member of Road Fork Baptist Church and later attended Sandhill United Methodist Church and Hills United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters; four sons; 19 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; one sister-in-law; and a number of nieces and nephews. (Names of the living withheld out of respect for their privacy.)
On Oct. 27, 1937, she married Raymond C. Swartz. He died May 21, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Irma Eileen McCoy, who died March 28, 1998; three grandchildren, Charles Raymond McCoy and Bart and Brent Swartz; three sisters, May Stephens, Nora Stephens and Hazel Ahrens; and two brothers, Arthur and Ernest Rohrer.
Services are at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at McClure-Schafer Funeral Home in Marietta with the Rev. Gale Lauderman officiating. Burial is in Creighton Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Friday morning until the hour of services.
